5 Chinese dramas to watch during your acad breaks

As students try to adapt to the “new normal” there are days where they just want to take a break and relax. There’s nothing wrong with stepping back and taking a break from all the acad stress. Here are 5 Chinese Dramas that you can watch whenever you’re taking a break from all that academic work: 

• 亲爱的，热爱的 (Go Go Squid!) 

亲爱的，热爱的 is about the story of Tong Nian (Yang Zi) and Han Shangyan (Li Xian) and how they fell in love with each other despite their differences. Tong Nian is a happy-go-lucky school girl who excels in her studies while Han Shangyan is known to be the cold and emotionless leader of his cybersecurity team who is passionate about their goal to win the world championship. 

• 初恋那件小事 (A Little Thing Called First Love) 

初恋那件小事 stars Lai Kuan-lin as Liang Younian and Zhao Jinmai as Xia Miaomiao. The story revolves on how an ordinary shy girl fell in love with a popular, and handsome artistic student back in their high school days. The drama shows how the relationship between Younian and Miaomiao progressed as they grew up and entered college. 

• 致我們暖暖的小時光 (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) 

致我們暖暖的小時光 is a rom-com drama that shows the story between Gu Weiyi (Lin Yi) and Situ Mo(Fair Xing). The story revolves around the progressing relationship between Gu WeiYi and Situ Mo as they find out that they have to live together in an apartment set up by their mothers. This drama shows how they learned how to deal with each other and eventually fall in love despite their differences. 

• 微微一笑很倾城 (Love O2O)

微微一笑很倾城 shows the relationship between Bei Weiwei (Zheng Shuang) and Xiao Nai (Yang Yang) that started from a game called “A Chinese Ghost Story.” Bei WeiWei uses the virtual ID Lu Weiwei and was considered as one of the best players of the game. After being dumped in the game by her virtual husband, Xiao Nai stepped in and became her new virtual husband. They eventually met up in person to which they realized that they were already in love and this started their beautiful relationship. 

• 甜蜜暴击 (Sweet Combat) 

甜蜜暴击 is a drama starred by Lu Han who plays Ming Tian and Guan XiaoTong who plays Fang Yu. Ming Tian and Fang Yu met as they both decided to enroll in Zheng Ze University; a university known for sports. Fang Yu; a mixed martial arts champion, was tasked to train Ming Tian which led them to eventually fall in love with each other.
