Before the era of TikTok and Netflix, television and YouTube used to be some of our go-to sources of entertainment. Even the celebrities were different back then.

Here are some stars you might remember during the 2000s:

1) Brenda Song

You may recognize her as London Tipton from the Disney sitcom, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. But did you know her character was said to be inspired by the real-life Paris Hilton? Brenda Song nailed her role and was even featured on other Disney shows and movies, like American Dragon: Jake Long and Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior.

2) Harry Shum Jr.

Who could ever forget Harry Shum Jr.’s character Mike Chang on the TV series, Glee? He also appeared on other shows, like Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, and made a brief cameo in the hit movie, Crazy Rich Asians. Hopefully, we can see more from him in China Rich Girlfriend.

3) Ryan Higa

Ryan Higa is known for his YouTube channel, nigahiga. He was one of the first well-known YouTubers to make comedic content. Although he doesn’t post as often as before, we will never forget some of his iconic videos, such as How to be Ninja and How To Sing Like Your Favorite Artists.

4) Michelle Phan

Michelle Phan is a popular YouTuber and one of the first few people to start a lifestyle channel, where she gives reviews, makeup tutorials and life advice. Sadly, she took a long break in 2015 due to legal troubles but returned in 2017, though currently, with less videos.
