Birkenstock’s newest retail concept opens at Lucky Chinatown

Birkenstock, a German footwear brand, opened its first new retail concept in the Philippines at the Megaworld Lucky Chinatown Mall last June 26. The 40 sq.m. retail space showcases several exciting new styles, colors, and prints first seen in-store.

“We are excited to open our first new retail concept in the Philippines with a completely different look and feel, but still unmistakably Birkenstock,” said Philgear International Inc.’s brand manager Carlo Cecilio during an interview. The new store interior, according to Carlo, is based on Birkenstock’s core materials such as cork, leather, and jute.

Carlo also introduced two new releases exclusively available in Birkenstock Lucky Chinatown. The Birko Flor Ethno Mocha features an ethnic print, which is inspired by the boho style. It’s also one of the first few releases available in vegan leather.

On the other hand, the Taormina Oiled Leather is similar to Birkenstock’s Mayari sandal with a slim black strap for extra security.

Birkenstock Lucky Chinatown is just the first out of several mono-brand stores under the Primer Group of Companies to open within the year. In the coming years, Birkenstock Philippines promises to continue to expand in more prime locations nationwide.
