In a series of Instagram posts reminiscent of mock film posters, Kapuso actress Kris Bernal and Chinoy businessman Perry Choi announce that they are expecting.

It happened – we weren’t really “trying” but we were blessed with pregnancy! 🙏🏻
I can still remember I’ve felt a rush of different emotions when the test showed two lines. I already had suspicion weeks prior to finding out the good news but I was able to confirm it when something happened.. Bernal shares the two sides of being pregnant and recreates it with husband Choi seen sitting on the floor, his mouth wide open on the toilet bowl as if just throwing up; while Bernal is doing her makeup and hair while sitting on a chair. Bernal also shares that she was able to hide being pregnant from her coworkers and friends.
“So, this is what morning sickness feels like. 🤢 I’ve been trying to mimic or portray this kind of feeling in some of my tv roles/scenes! And, it was waaaaay different!! Bad acting, KB! Lol! 🤣
I haven’t experienced anything like this before and I feel like a stranger in my own body. Is it really like this momSHEs? 🥹 It’s a miracle that I was able to keep up appearances at work and with friends without anyone knowing what was going on! Good acting, KB! 🏆,” says Bernal in an Instagram post.

In another Instagram post, Bernal shares that in her first trimester of becoming pregnant with the baby, her husband made sure to take care of her by reminding her about the things that she needs to do and should not do, taking her medicines at the right time, and remaining by her side when she was experiencing terrible mood swings.

I just want to shift the spotlight to Perry, who has been very hands on in taking care of me. He put up with all my crazy mood swings, reminds me of the dos and don’ts of my doctor, makes sure I take my medicines on time, and the list goes on! 📝 Tama na!! Emotional ako ngayon! Naiiyak ako just thinking about it! 🥹

Bernal and Choi first met when Bernal started her business venture Meat Kris in 2016. Choi became her business partner— he was the primary food supplier of meat, fries, milk, cheese, etc., and helped her develop the recipe for the burger patty of her business. They revealed their relationship to the public in 2017, got engaged in 2020, and tied the knot in 2021.
