Chinoy TV mobile app gets an update for Mr. & Ms Chinatown 2020

It is the same mobile app that supporters of the annual Mr. & Ms. Chinatown Philippines have been raving about. However, China TV mobile app has undergone an update to better facilitate in-app transactions especially about the casting of votes for the prestigious yearly pageant.

Aside from being a fully-interactive mobile app promoting Chinese-Filipino culture through various content, Chinoy TV mobile app also serves as the official mobile app of the yearly Mr. & Ms. Chinatown Philippines.

The app’s users regularly get an update about the schedule of activities and the profiles of all the pageant’s candidates. Most important, Chinoy TV mobile app facilitates the casting of votes, now using the prepaid card platform provided by OmniPay, an electronic money issuer and innovative payments processor. The customized prepaid wallet is made more convenient for online voting, featuring variable pricing schemes and wallet tap up also through other channels like InstaPay, BancNet, ECPay, and other fintech partners.

For those who want to support their favorite Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines candidates, the following guide will help easily navigate and use the updated mobile app.

What are the features of this app?

  • Candidate Profile Page

The app features a candidate profile page where you can see the Mr. and Ms. Chinatown candidates arranged by order. You can support any candidate by casting a vote for him/her. To do so, press the ‘vote’ button directly. However, if you want to know more about a contestant, simply click their picture to view his/her profile, which will show you his/her personal information, a fun fact about him/her, and why he/she is a good representative of the #RISE movement.

  • The Virtual Card

You can view your virtual card, which can be used for the Chinoy TV voting transactions and other online transactions that accept OmniPay. Thus, this card would still be usable even after the pageant.

  • Card-to-Card Fund Transfer

You can choose to directly transfer funds to another account using the app. Just transfer the fund amount to a specific user. A minimal transfer fee may apply.

How do you install the app?

Android device users can download the mobile app through Google Play. The app is not yet available for iOS device users, who can opt to instead use the web version to cast votes and find candidates’ profiles.

How to set up an account?

People who have participated in last year’s voting can access their accounts by typing down their username and password, while those who are new or who have forgotten their account details will have to set up a new account.

Here are the steps to set up an account:

  • Once the app is downloaded, click the ‘register’ button and fill-up the form with your complete information. Once you’re done, click the ‘register’ button to proceed.
  • On the next page, you will be asked to upload a valid government ID and input some basic information regarding your ID. At the bottom of the page, you will have to click the terms and conditions for the Chinoy TV Prepaid Card to successfully register and proceed to the next page, where you will have to confirm your information.
