As one of the Philippines’ leading medical institutions, Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) has once again proved its world-class services by taking home two international awards.
In its commitment to match global standards, CSMC underwent an exhaustive reaccreditation process by Accreditation Canada in November 2022. The independent not-for-profit organization, affiliated with the Health Standards Organization (HSO), assessed CSMC using an extensive evaluation of its organizational healthcare policies, procedures, and practices. Onsite visits were also scheduled to evaluate the medical institution’s commitment to safe and quality patient care.
Recognizing the consistent quality of hospital systems and services provided, Accreditation Canada honored CSMC with both the Platinum seal of accreditation — an upgrade from its previous Gold standard assessment in 2019 — and the People-Centered Care Commitment award, with which CSMC became the first organization in Asia to receive the distinction.
“The Platinum accreditation is the culmination of the work that we have put in over the last three years since we achieved the Gold accreditation. It is a validation of our unwavering pursuit of excellent quality patient care and a motivator for us to continue to strive for excellence in all that we do,” proudly stated CSMC Chief Quality Officer Dr. Rosemarie Serrano.
Since its previous accreditation evaluation in 2019, CSMC evidently strived to create positive changes within itself according to the quality expected by international criteria. Ultimately, the results of this most recent re-accreditation serve as yet another milestone that marks CSMC’s journey to constantly improving and dedicating itself to the global standard in delivering patient and family-centered care.
