How often can you find a kid who knows and monitors how many branches of SM there are and the malls’ anniversary, opening dates, and floor areas?
Apparently, in the Philippines, there’s a kid who’s a huge fan of SM Supermalls. Meet Marty—a five-year-old SM genius!
In a now-viral TikTok videos, Marty’s answering several trivial questions asked by his godmother Brenda Fernandez all about SM, such as what are the branches of SM in China, how many SM’s are there in the Philippines, what’s the newest SM branch and what is his most favorite SM in the Philippines, among others.
“These videos have reached the Sys (real owners of SM). [I] sent these videos to my tita Liza, a vice president in the mall empire, and she forwarded them to Mr. Hans Sy,” Brenda said in a Facebook post.
“[An] SM Marketing Officer has already contacted Marty’s mom to arrange Marty’s special tour of SM Megamall. [The] date is still being fixed, but Ninang will surely be there,” Brenda added.
Now, how many SM’s are there? According to Marty, there are 75 in the Philippines, seven in China!
