Chinoy actress and socialite Heart Evangelista made waves on social media after posting photos of her show stopping debut on the red carpet of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year.
In the 75th Cannes Film Festival, Heart made sure to turn heads as she makes a first time appearance on the esteemed festival with her signature glamorous looks that exude luxury. For her first walk, Heart strutted in a bold red gown designed by Lebanese-Italian fashion designer Tony Ward.
In her Instagram post, Heart shares how proud she is to be able to grace the distinguished film event. The Cannes Film Festival is an invitation-only event held every year at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France and is considered as one of the “Big Three” major European film festivals.
During the screening of film Un Petit Frere (Mother and Son) on Friday, May 27, Heart made her second walk on the festival, this time donning an icy sky-blue couture ball gown by the same designer, Tony Ward. Heart’s photos wearing the lavish strapless gown draped dramatically across the red carpet once again became viral on social media.
This couture gown became even more iconic when Heart posted herself wearing the same ball gown but this time, no longer in the festival but on a beach, which she captioned “When they give you the wrong address of the party,”.
Heart Evangelista’s signature glamor and style has made her a prominent fashion icon not just in the Philippines but in the international scene as well. ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ author Kevin Kwan even identified her as one of the real-life crazy rich Asians in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
Heart, whose real name is Love Marie Ongpauco-Escudero, traces her Chinese roots to her father, Chinese–Filipino entrepreneur Reynaldo Evangelista Ongpauco. Their affluent family is engaged in many business ventures, most prominently in the restaurant and dining industry.
