PBA star Jeron Teng proposes to longtime girlfriend on a romantic basketball court

Blossoming on the basketball court is a romance that is now ready for the next step of the relationship — marriage!

Last March 21, PBA star Jeron Teng finally proposed to model and former courtside reporter Jeanine Tsoi, his longtime girlfriend of more than seven years. Wearing his DLSU jersey as a callback to the couple’s university days in Taft, Teng knelt on the petal-covered floors of the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan to pop the question of the ages.

The reply: Tsoi, the soon-to-be blushing bride, nodding happily in tears under the gentle rain of celebratory confetti!

Designed by event stylist Kyno Kho, who had also previously worked on Sam YG’s magical wedding proposal, the transformation of a basketball court into the romantic heart-shaped setup was without a doubt a page off one of the sweetest love stories we have ever seen. And if that wasn’t enough to make your heart flutter, then just know that Teng also penned Tsoi a special letter listing all the reasons why he loves her on Instagram:

To my girlfriend Jeanine, it has been almost 7 years since we’ve started dating. I am grateful that fate brought us together. I played for La Salle and you became our courtside reporter. God gave me the blessing to meet the girl of my dreams. From then on, life has never been better. In those years, we have built memories together, and even in the simplest moments, it made me love you even more. I would love to let you know, maybe I haven’t said this enough, but here are the reasons why I love you.

You’re the most beautiful girl in the world. You make my heart flutter. You’re smart. Even pushed me to become a Dean’s lister. You make me laugh. You’re my dance partner. You’re my adventure buddy. You’re my food trip buddy. You’re my no. 1 supporter. You take care of me. You never fail to make me happy when I’m sad. You make me a better man.

I’m the luckiest to have you. I love you forever, and… There’s only one thing left to do…

On another set of Instagram posts, Teng, whose birthday also falls on March 21, has further made his joy known to all. “My birthday just became more memorable. Best day ever!!” he shared, celebrating his 28th. “Our love story will always be our favorite one.”

Teng is a member of the Alaskan Aces, whose last game played last Sunday, March 20, after a 35-season run. Although the future of the former PBA team is still up in the air, the promise of a life together with his new fiancee now awaits.
