Wear your luck with these CNY-inspired collections

Despite a rough start to 2022, in less than two weeks, we will be celebrating the Lunar New Year, and what better way to welcome the Year of the Tiger than wearing something that emphasizes cheer and celebration?

A nod to auspicious traditions for the Chinese New Year, shades of red and Tiger-related silhouettes appear throughout these collections from COS, Charles & Keith, and Gucci.

COS (P3250 – P11000)

Delivered through a vibrant color palette, this Lunar New Year capsule collection from COS is centered around the anticipation of a ‘bright’ new year ahead. Welcoming the new year with soft, luxurious textures—layering becomes lighter, allowing bold colors to peek through.

The tonal dressing makes a statement without sacrificing comfort; when paired with oversized accessories such as graphic wool scarves, quilted accessories, and statement knit hybrids, juxtapositions of proportions dress up easy silhouettes to give looks a playful edge.

Behind the lens is renowned contemporary Chinese photographer Nick Yang, who artfully frames the collection with a relaxed freshness.

Charles & Keith (P10399 – P12199)

Charles & Keith is another fashion brand bringing good cheer this Lunar New Year. The SHUSHU/TONG x CHARLES & KEITH capsule collection, as the brand describes, “features two pairs of bags and shoes centered around the key motif of the rose, exploring its ephemeral beauty, fragility, and charm.”

“The unique imagery of the rose embodies the SHUSHU/TONG brand DNA — where the modern woman and unabashedly feminine details are juxtaposed — merged with the sensibilities and understated elegance that form the bedrock of CHARLES & KEITH’s design ethos,” Charles & Keith adds.

Gucci (Price available upon request)

The Gucci Tiger collection is Gucci’s ode to the Lunar New Year. It’s a wide-ranging selection of ready-to-wear and accessories for both men and women, featuring various renditions of a tiger—a mainstay of Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s collections and a reflection of his fascination with nature.

Gucci continues to engage in contemporary dialogues within the creative process through the celebration of a new year, using time in all its iterations as a never-ending wellspring of inspiration.
