Episode Overview
Starting with a deep-rooted history of friendship between Chinese and Filipino communities, the Filipino & Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation was created to promote mutual respect, dialogue, and peaceful resolutions, particularly amidst tensions over the West Philippine Sea. One of their key initiatives was the Lakad Magkaibigan event, which commemorated both Philippine Independence Day and Filipino Chinese Friendship Day. This civic walk, participated by over 5000 Filipino-Chinese entrepreneurs, celebrates unity and emphasizes the importance of friendship between these two communities.
The foundation has also proven its commitment to helping Filipinos in times of need, notably during the recent “Carina” Typhoon Relief Operations. After severe flooding hit Metro Manila, the foundation raised between 60 to 100 million pesos to provide essential supplies such as rice and canned goods for affected families. Their quick response brought much-needed relief to the calamity victims, highlighting the foundation’s dedication to supporting Filipinos in times of crisis.
