Where to donate and help those affected by #UlyssesPH

Let’s help our kababayans!

A succession of typhoons has affected many Filipinos in various areas. After experiencing the brunt of Typhoon Ulysses, which came about a week after Typhoon Rolly, countless citizens have become homeless,  suffered damages, and require immediate assistance. Although several groups and organizations have been  organizing various relief operations – there is much more to be done.

If you’re interested to donate, here is a list of organizations who have initiated donation drives to help out communities in hard-hit areas:

1. Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation

The Yellow Boat of Hope started out helping children who used to swim to school in the mangrove village of Layag-Layag, Brgy. Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City. Today, they continue their mission to improve children’s access to education and ensure the students get to school quickly and safely — all while staying dry during typhoon season. They pool their resources to build schools and provide scholarships, medical and dental missions, livelihood programs, and school supplies.

2. UNICEF Philippines

UNICEF promotes the rights and well-being of children in 190 countries and territories, with a special focus on reaching those in dire need. You can support UNICEF’s ongoing emergency response for all kinds of disasters and help provide affected communities with water kits and hygiene essentials, health and nutrition supplies, learning and teaching kits, tents, and psychosocial support in child-friendly spaces.
