While big social gatherings are being kept to a minimum during the pandemic, one thing you can’t miss out on is indulging in mouthwatering Chinese food. Why not bring home some classic dim sum dishes you can easily enjoy in the comfort of your own homes? And the best part is, there’s no one there to judge you in case you overindulge.
Here are a couple of stores where you can get your fill of ready-to-cook dim sum:
1. The House of Dim Sum
Based in New Manila, The House of Dim Sum offers a wide variety of freshly made premium dim sum. With recipes straight from Hong Kong, you can ensure that you get an authentic experience for your feast at home. They have it all — from the classics to the sweet and savory and even dim sum paos!
Chinoy owner, Kat de Jesus, shares that this business started out as a quarantine project. Since she works as a DJ, she needed to find an alternative source of income. To her surprise and delight, her dim sum business garnered overwhelming support and is continuously growing.
So, if you’re missing the taste of Hong Kong dim sum, some dishes you should try out are the Chiu Chow dumplings and beancurd rolls. And for your sweet tooth, don’t miss out on the egg custard buns.
2. What On Earth
Whether you’re already vegan or are looking to transition to this lifestyle, you may opt to try some delectable dim sum from What On Earth. They offer healthy, vegan options for your plant-based journey. Plus, they also deliver to areas outside of Metro Manila, like Rizal and Bulacan.
3. Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli
While this Binondo staple is best known for their best-selling hopia and tikoy, patrons will be glad to know that Eng Bee Tin also sells frozen dim sum and ready-to-cook Chinese dishes through their website.
You can choose from their selection of over 20 frozen dim sum offerings like The Great Buddha Siomai, Pork Goyong, Prawn Beancurd, Roll and many more. Why not even throw in some Lava Buchi for desert? Just pop these in the steamer and you’re good to go!
4. Dim Sum Cravings
One of our latest discoveries from chef and certified foodie, Mitch Yu, is Dimsum Cravings. Their store offers a Dim Sum Sampler, so you can enjoy a variety of your favorites at affordable prices. Such a great way to satisfy your cravings!
