CHiNOY Cares: FFCAAI Donates Relief Goods for Typhoon Victims in Marikina

The recent back-to-back tropical cyclones, Typhoon Rolly and Ulysses, left numerous casualties and damages in its wake in the Philippines. To help, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Alumni Associations, Inc. (FFCAAI) recently launched a typhoon relief operation.

The FFCAAI President Jimmy See, together with Vice-Presidents Golden David, Stanley Sy, Mylene Co, Ellen Mui Martines, Vhivian Wong Chan, Treasurer Shirley Cheng and Ryan Chua (son of Director Robert Chua) visited Marikina City Hall to personally hand over the goods to the City Mayor Marcy Teodoro. Key officers also present during the turnover ceremony included Vice Mayor Dr. Marion Andres, First District Councilor Jojo Banzon, and Metro Manila Development Authority General Manager Jojo Garcia and Chief of Staff Michael Salalima.

Mayor Teodoro expressed his admiration for the federation’s desire to provide aid and “enthusiastic action of doing good” for the typhoon victims and said that he would immediately send the batch of relief goods to the disaster areas to quickly supply the victims with the top-most necessities — food and clothing.

The association donated white rice, mineral water, blankets (donated by VP Ellen Mui Martines), ceramic tableware and handheld thermal scanners (donated by VP Mylene Co) and purified water (donated by Director Robert Chua).
