4 Places in Taiwan For Your Bucket List Based on the Drama ‘Iron Ladies’

When we watch dramas, we get a glimpse of their culture, their food, and their best tourist attractions. For instance, the popular drama, 姊的時代, has us dreaming of Taiwan once the pandemic is over. It details the life of three professional women in their 30s who try to find personal happiness outside their successful careers. The main cast of the drama includes Aviis Zhong as Zhou Kai Ting, Ada Pan as Ma Li Sha, Jacqueline Zhu as Wang Qing Qing, Ben Wu as Su Can, Gabriel Lan as Gao Ze Shan, and Jack Li as Lin Dai Yu.

Here are some places from the series you can take note of when you plan your next Taiwan trip:

1) Tamsui Old Street and Waterfront 淡水老街

 

  

Lovely scenery, fresh air, and amazing food are all available in Tamsui. Not only can you capture a lot of Instagram-worthy photos, but you can also shop at the Tamsui Old Street and bike around the park. The waterfront area is even a great place to watch the sunset over the Tamsui River with your loved ones.

How to get there: Take the MRT Red Line 2 to the northern terminus station Tamsui (淡水).

Opening Hours: Vendors will generally start in the afternoon and stay open until the last MRT train at 12 midnight.

 

2) Leofoo Village Theme Park 六福村主題遊樂園

Leofoo Village is a theme park, water park, and an animal zoo resort in one! It claims that it’s the first fantasy world in Asia that has both a safari and amusement park. The park boasts of extreme rides like Ring of Fire, Captain Cook’s Swinging Boat, and Screaming Condor. Children can also enjoy the Lefoo Village with rides like the Flying Carpet and Flying Horse.

3) Taipei 101 台北101

Don’t miss out on Taiwan’s tallest skyscraper with countless high-end shopping boutiques, including Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and many more! At a hundred and one stories high, you can take in a spectacular view of the Taipei skyline. Their annual New Year’s Eve Countdown Clock is also a must if you visit Taiwan during the holidays.

How to get there: Take the Red Line 2 (Xiangshan train) to Taipei 101 station (台北101).

4) Miramar Entertainment Park 美麗華百樂園


Department stores, shopping malls, and a massive 70-meter-tall Ferris wheel! Could you ask for a better combo? With a mix of local and international stores, an IMAX theater, and restaurants for every budget, there’s something for everyone at Miramar Entertainment Park. Name it and they have it!

How to get there: Take the Brown Line 1 to Jiannan Road (劍南路) station.
