Dylan Wang (王鹤棣) is a Chinese actor, singer, and model who is known for his first leading role as Daoming Si in his first drama, Meteor Garden. With this, he got huge fame in China and all throughout Asia.
This new drama, Our Southwest General University (我们的西南联大), is set in the Second Sino-Japanese War era during 1937. A group of young, brave youth who are not afraid of bullets and guns, believed that they can save their country.
From the years 1937 to 1946, 3 universities, Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Nankai University temporarily merged during a historic moment in Kunming to form the National Southwestern Associated University or the Southwest General University. As the Japanese war broke out, scholars, teachers, and staff sacrificed themselves to save their country.
The drama consists of 40 episodes and was supposed to air in September 2020 but telecast had to be postponed indefinitely. The cast is Dylan Wang as Cheng Jia Shu together with Zhou Ye as Lin Hua Jun, Ye Zu Xin as Ye Run Ming, Hu Lian Xin as Ye Run Qing, and Wang Yu Zheng as Bi Yun Xiao.
This drama serves as a memoir for the culture resistance during the war, a tribute for the intellectuals, and a series to commend youth’s ideals.
