After weeks of rigorous challenges that transcended the limitations of online pageantry, the winners of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2020 were finally crowned today!

More than just a competition, this year’s Mr. and Ms. Chinatown aimed to serve as a movement for Chinoys to rise above the current pandemic. With that, the candidates were able to inspire their fellow Chinoys to continually Rebuild, Inspire, Strengthen, and Empower themselves during this new normal all the while embracing their unique cultural heritage. With that, 24 strong, driven, and outspoken candidates dedicated themselves to serve as the embodiment of this movement.

The Grand Coronation of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines was held this October 18, 2020, hosted live from Hilton Hotels Manila via Kapamilya Live, and Facebook Live. For this culminating event, the candidates took the stage for their Athletic and Formal Wear competition. Afterward, the top 12 contestants were chosen to proceed to the final Q&A portion, judged by an esteemed circle of judges:

  • Hon. Betty Lao Chua (President  of International Bazaar Foundation)
  • Knoi Austria Esmane (Chief Creative Officer of Hoseki)
  • Mr. Keren Pascual (One of the country’s premium talent managers)
  • Rosenthal Tee (Noted Fashion Designer)
  • Atty. Arlene Joan R. Tanjuaqio-Agustin (SVP and Private Bank Group Head of Union Bank Philippines)
  • Bianca Guidotti-Santos (Bb. Pilipinas International 2014)
  • Mr. Raymond Dizon (ABS-CBN Business Unit Head)

The newly-crowned Ms. Chinatown Philippines will bear the handcrafted Phoenix Crown by Hoseki: an extraordinary symbol of beauty and substance, symbolizing the three regions of the Philippines, alongside the seven Chinese cardinal values–all connected in one crown.
